“ Visiting from out of town and my friends brought me to their favorite local watering hole. It didn't disappoint and we finished the night here. A good mix of people, with space in the front and back and some bar seating along the middle. The drinks were strong and the beer was smooth. The hotdog was a nice touch and hit the spot too. They had table service, and our waiter was a character who added to the wonderful night. Highly recommend and if I'm back visiting I'll be back too. ”

I was walking around Harlem heading into Central Park area - I looked and saw , I played some of the locals and over the course of my trip, met some of Kool cats! I recommend luck of draws, beginners welcome! Their dart teams are also pretty competitive on the NYC circuit! Always a good time! ”
“ Mess Hall is one of my go-to spots in Harlem! It’s hard for me to find a bar where I feel totally comfortable going solo, but Mess Hall is the exception. Their happy hour can’t be beat - drink specials until 8pm! The drinks are strong, the prices are right, and the vibe is always chill but fun. The space has a cool, laid-back feel, and if you go in the summer sit in the front sidewalk seating. Or their cute backyard. The staff are all great and genuinely kind people. ”

“ Great cocktails. Great selection of alcohols (found one of my favorite rums) and the food is all great. Can't stop thinking about the pizza with peperoncini in it. It was incredible. We went as a group of 4 on Christmas Eve and the bartender, David, was amazing and really helpful. I'll definitely be going back soon when in the neighborhood! ”
“ Honestly, as I move away from this neighborhood, I'm kind of sad I won't be closer to the mess hall. The cheapest shot/beer combo in the city. (Trust me, I know). Some of the best bartenders. With some regulars who don't act like they own the place. I'll miss being so close and leaving at 8PM absolutely bonked to go back home. Plus, they have darts and other cool little games and a backyard space. A gem in harlem. Also, there's a ramp for those with issues walking and wheelchair bound. ”
